Our rivers are our lifeline. We are totally dependent for our daily water needs, agriculture and electricity on not only the major rivers and their tributaries but also on smaller rivers that criss cross the length and breadth of our country.  ## ഇന്ന്  അവൾക് കോളേജിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ ദിവസമായിരുന്നു..ആ വലിയ ഗേറ്റിനു മുന്നിൽ ചെറിയൊരു പതർച്ചയോടെ അവൾ നിന്നു..പ്രണയവും വിരഹവും...സൗഹൃദവും..കളിയും..ചിരിയും..പാട്ടും..ഡാൻസും..എല്ലാം നിറഞ്ഞ സിനിമയിൽ മാത്രം കണ്ടു പരിചയമുള്ള ആ കോളേജ് ക്യാമ്പസ് ..ദേ തന്റെ തൊട്ടു മുന്നിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നു....അവൾ അത്ഭുതത്തോടെ നോക്കി കൊണ്ട് ആ ഗേറ്റിനകത്തെക്കു നടന്നു...            തലകുനിച്ചു ആരെയും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെ അകത്തേക്ക് നീങ്ങുമ്പോൾ മനസ്സു വല്ലാതെ ചുട്ടു പൊള്ളി...പലവർണ്ണങ്ങളിൽ വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ ധരിച്ച സുന്ദരികളും സുന്ദരന്മാരും തനിക്കു മുന്നിലൂടെ ചിത്രശലഭങ്ങൾ കണക്കെ പാറി നടക്കുന്നത് ഒരു നിഴൽ വട്ടം പോലെ അവൾ കാണുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു..."നോക്കാനുള്ള ധൈര്യമില്ല.....ആരോടും കൂട്ടുകൂടാനുള്ള അവകാശവും തനിക്കില്ല്യ...എവിടെയും എപ്പോഴും വല്ലാതെ ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ടു പോയി താൻ...തന്റെ ഈ കറുത്ത നിറം എല്ലാവരിൽ നിന്നും തന്നെ അകറ്റി..വല്ലാത്തൊരു കറുപ്പാണ് തനിക്ക്... ഇരുട്ടിനെക്കാൾ നിറമുള്ള കറുപ്പ്..എല്ലാവരിലും വെറുപ്പുളവാക്കുന്ന കട്ട പിടിച്ച കറുപ്പ്..""..        അവൾ സ്വയം പ്രാകി മുന്നോട്ടു നീങ്ങി..ക്...
